AIRIES MATEUS HOUSE IN MELIDESAires Mateus, brothers and partners in architecture, present a key work
in this monograph, one that expresses the essence of their design
thinking. Designed as a patio house, the residence sits in the hills of
Grandola and faces the sea. Its lower floor solves relations with the
wild topography, while its main floor spaces are large and
volumetrically high, accommodating precise functions and atmospheres.
Photographed in effervescent greyscale and illustrated by sections and
floor plans, the house is given a special place in the oeuvre of the
Portuguese architects. |
