C3 368 UNIVERSITY IN CONTEXTThis instalment explores two themes, “University Buildings in Context”
and “Addition and Subtraction”. The first presents a selection of eight
case studies that represent the idea of building for universities in the
context of a regional or location condition. Among these are Kolding
Campus of SDU by Henning Larsen, Georgetown School of Foreign Service in
Qatar by Legorreta + Legorreta, and the Teaching Center in WU Campus by
BUSarchitektur. The second theme addresses the renovation of older
buildings, adapting them to new uses, while deciding what to keep,
remove, or add in the process. Five examples include Harvard Art Museums
by Renzo Piano and Janus by mlzd. |
